Pink Bike predicts a re-emergance of 650B in 2012

New Product: Velocity 650b Blunt Wheels

Our loading bay is once again filled with new 650b product. We received another shipment of wheels from Velocity. We now have Velocity Blunt 650b wheels in silver and black. The black rims are laced to black sealed ATB hubs. The silver rims are laced to black ball bearing ATB hubs. These wheels were hand hand built in Michigan by Velocity. Check the new wheels out here.

We now have X-Fusion forks! We have been anxiously awaiting their arrival and we’re sure you have been too. We now have Velvet and Enix models. The great guys over at X-Fusion were kind enough to install 650b spacers on all the forks. This means when you get your fork, just stick your 650b wheel on it and ride. New Product: Velocity Blunt SL 650b Wheel sets!

We now have Velocity Blunt SL 650b wheel sets! These wheels are available in 28, 32 or 36 spoke. We have these wheels in black and white. The wheels are available with Velocity’s convertible front hub. This hub works with either standard 9mm QR or a 20 or 15mm thru axle. For the weight conscious riders, we have 28 hole Blunt SL wheels with a Velocity comp convertible front hub as well as a light weight Velocity rear hub. Check them all out here

Fun with 650B

Here at SixFifty, we have been trying to finding ways to keep our mind off the lack of warm weather in Wisconsin. So we tried outfitting a Trek Remedy with some 650b gear. Check out the pictures below.

We decided to throw a 15mm White Brothers Loop fork on the front end of a Trek Remedy.

We also decided to throw on a 15mm American Classic 650BXC front wheel to complete the front end.

Just for fun, we tried our hand at turning a Shimano shifter into a Joplin seat post remote.

We were surprisingly successful, with a flick of the trigger the seat post goes down or up.

Close Look at Jamis 650b Nemesis

Not so long ago we received our shipment of the new Jamis 2012 650b hardtails which included the Jamis Nemesis.

This bike is a great value for anyone looking to get started off on the right foot with a 650b mountain bike without spending a lot.

The Nemesis is spec’d with great parts for the price. It is stocked with Elixir 3 storm grey brakes with 160mm HS1 rotors. These brake levers have matchmaker clamps with X7 2×10 grey trigger shifters.

As part of the X7/Elixir 3 Matchmaker set, it has a 10 speed storm grey Sram X7 rear derailleur and a double Sram X5 front derailleur.

The Nemesis has a Sram S1000 39/26t crank set, along with a Sram press fit BB30 bottom bracket.

To get you rolling on the trail, the Nemesis has a set of XD – Lite Alex Rims with Formula sealed bearing hubs. These wheels have a pair of 2.1 Kenda Nevegal tires for all round performance.

Finally for a smooth ride, the Nemesis has an X Fusion Velvet fork with a tapered head tube. The frame is made from triple butted 7005 Kinesis Aluminum with an Agent Orange paint job.
This bike is a great start for your first 650b mountain bike or even one for a seasoned 650b rider. If you’ve never tried 650b before, here is your chance. Ride the Nemesis, you won’t be sorry.

We received our shipment of some 2012 Jamis 650b hardtails. They are now available on sixfifty.com. Be sure to check out the long awaited steel 650b Dragon. It is made with high quality steel which provides the smoothest ride around while still being very light. The other model we recieved was the 2012 650b Nemesis. This bike offers a light kinesis aluminum frame and a smooth ride with an x-fusion velvet fork. Check them out here.
